Breast Health Workshop

Health is an essential topic to learn about for women. Specially, breast cancer is a common diagnosis for cancer in the women’s population. Muslim Community Health Center of Milwaukee was able to facilitate an excellent workshop at the Albanian American Islamic Center. It was sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Our local Oncologist, Dr. Sana Jeffrey, had an informative presentation on this topic. She also volunteered her time for clinical exams. Several women from the community gathered to take advantage of this excellent opportunity, where they not only learned about breast health but also enjoyed a healthy snack from Muslim Community Health Center.

Youth Group of Girls, Kenosha took active participation in this event.

May Allah Reward AAICW for letting use the facility and providing all logistic support and ISSEW for organizing and hosting this event on November 18th, 2017 along with providing Pizza for all the participants.

May Allah SWT reward all the volunteers and bless them with health and happiness.

Message from President MCHC
Muslim Community and Health Center (MCHC) is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization, it was formed in 2004 to help the community members in various ways.  In 2008 we established the first Muslim free clinic in WI. which has served thousands of uninsured and underinsured patients since its inception. It has also provided discounted blood testing and x-rays.

We  work with the Milwaukee Justice Center to help the community members with legal advice, their Mobile Legal Van  comes to our location from time to time with the volunteer attorneys

We are working with the Sojourner House to have our volunteers trained in helping battered women.

At this time we are in the process of constructing the first Muslim Senior Center which Insha' Allah will be finished in March 2015 at 8th and Layton Ave in Milwaukee ( attached to the ISM Salam Elementary School building).  It is our vision to do Dawah through social services.  We plan on adding other much needed services with time.

We are at this time working with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Medical college of WI. to spread Breast Cancer awareness among the Muslim and South Asian women through a grant. We would like to extend these services to the Racine and Kenosha communities.  We would welcome students, doctors, and others to volunteer for MCHC clinic and Senior Center.

Looking forward to seeing you all and your support!

2013 - Ramadan Mubarak!!!

ISSEW Fundraising

ISSEW will be collecting funds/donations during community Iftaar for the following funds:

  1. Zakat-ul-Fitr (Fitrah) of $10/per person which is compulsory upon a Muslim to share the joy and happiness of Eid-ul-Fitr with those who are less fortunate. It must be paid before the Eid prayer. Earlier you pay better it is to reach into the hands of the needy. Please make the payments to ISSEW and we will facilitate the distribution inshaAllah.
  2. Zakat-ul-Maal (Zakat) is incumbent upon every Muslim who posses excess wealth (savings) each year. Ramadan is the best month to pay your Zakat for two reasons. One, the rewards are in multiple folds and two, easy to track a Calendar year. Please follow the guide to assess the proper amount of Zakat-ul-Maal you owe this year and pay it the desrving Muslims. This fund is exclusive for Needy Muslims. Again ISSEW is collecting the funds and will distribute it first within our community to those who qualify and then people at other places. Please make the payments to ISSEW and we will facilitate the distribution inshaAllah.
  3. ISSEW Building Project: As we have presented the project aspirations of ISSEW to construct a facility onto our land for providing better educational, recreational, and community services, we would like to launch the fundraising campaign to raise the funds needed in order to build the facilty by the Grace of Almighty Allah. Your participation and help is the way to go as a community to achieve our ambitious goal successfully. No Zakaat Funds could be given to this project as only poor and needy have rights over Zakat funds. InshaAllah, we pray to Allah to reward you with the wealth and blessings to please Allah SWT alone. More you spend in the path of Allah, more you will be rewarded inshaAllah. After putting our Trust in Allah, we are counting you all to help achieve this goal. More details will follow InshaAllah.

All Praise is due to Allah SWT and by His Grace the two brothers have done a tremendous favor to the South Eastern Wisconsin Muslim Community by donating 28 Acres of land. May Allah SWT reward them in abundance and bestow upon them unimaginable favors in this world as well as in the Hereafter. Ameen!

As the Office bearers of the Committee, we feel it is our responsibility to put our sincere effort towards better utilization of this property and realizing the dreams of this community by the Will and Grace of Almighty Allah to make a Model Community Village where the needs of our children, youth, adults, and our seniors are met under one roof. We dreamed for everyone of us to feel this as our home and prefer to spend most of our time here as one brotherhood.

As a first step, ISSEW has hired an Architect to come up with a Conceptual Design of our Phase I project under the guidance of Br. Masood Alam whom you all know very well. May Allah Bless him for his effort and support. We feel that we and you all own this project and hence it is our responsibility to share it with you and work as one Ummah in realizing our DREAM of developing a Model Community Village for us and for our generations to come, where all our needs of worships, sports, socialization, support, and other services are met in a cleaner environment free from evils, vulgarities, filth, deception, false peer pressures, etc.

Br. Masood and the Architect will come to present the details of this project and answer few questions you may have. Therefore, we would like you all to come join us and listen to a very exciting presentation InshaAllah and of course OWN it as it is your project, your children's project, and your family's project. Allah SWT says in the Qura'n in At-Taubah [9:111]:

9:111 Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah. then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.

FUNDRAISING AT IFTAAR

August 8 2011

Assalamualaikum Brothers and Sisters,

InshaAllah at each iftaar dinner we will be doing fund raising for the Mosque parking lot and the new community center projects. Everyone is welcome to attend the iftaars and make it a success.

At the sponsored dinners we suggested that each family pay $25 per family or $10 per person if it is possible. This would help in collecting the much needed funds for the projects. Any payments that are made would be tax deductable. We would recommend that you make donations by check to ISSEW so we could send you taxdeduct able receipts. However, cash donations are welcome as well.

Allah SWT is giving us this opportunity to donate for the mosque project in Ramadan and get the rewards in many folds. I would like to emphasize however  that the donations are not mandatory; it is at your own discretion. We would have a box set up and volunteers to collect the checks.

ANNOOR SUNDAY SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS

August 8 2011

Assalamualiakum Brothers and Sisters

Inshallah the first day of Sunday School this year will be September 4, 2011.

In order to have a successful school we need a group of dedicated volunteers.

We are currently looking for dedicated volunteers to teach at any of the levels.  Alhamdullilah there have been many members of our community who have expressed interest in teaching.  We would like anyone else who is interested teaching to contact me via e-mail or at any of the Iftars.

While we appreciate the enthusiasm shown by many members of the community, in order to have a successful school year, we need dedicated teachers who can commit to coming every Sunday, and in the event that they cannot make it, they should arrange for a substitute to take the class and have a lesson plan.  It is very important that all of our teachers have schedules that allow them to be at Sunday School regularly.

If anyone is interested, please contact, with that subject you are interested in teaching, what levels, and how many classes you would be able to take, along with what time of day you would be available (10:00- 10:50, 10:50-11:40, 12:10-1:00, or any combination).   Please contact me soon so that we can have a schedule ready soon and give teachers enough time to prepare before school starts.

Sincerely,
Brother Cheema
